60TH ANNIVERSARY VJ-DAY EVENT ZHIJIANG IN WESTERN HUNAN PROVINCE: (SAAHF)

During events to commemorate the 60th Anniversary of the conclusion of the Second World War, AVG Fighter “Ace” and record setting CNAC “Hump” Pilot John “Dick” Rossi, 14th Air Force P-51 Fighter Pilot Ronald Phillips, 14th Air Force B-25 Bomber Pilot Jack Schofield, Air Transport Command
C-47 “Hump” Pilot Jack Goodridge and Combat Cargo Command C-47 “Hump” Pilot Jake Saylor are seen while planting Commemorative Trees during the “Opening” Ceremonies of the Flying Tiger Museum in Zhijiang (Chihkiang). The five airmen were among the 48 CBI Veterans who participated in the SAAHF led tour, that saw all 48 veterans being made Honorary Citizens of the City of Kunming and a very special recognition of “Dick” Rossi by Chinese President Hu Jintao during events in China’s Great Hall Of The People.
