Looking more like a summer’s scene from an airfield in the south of England, crew members of a Vickers Wellington Mk. X from No. 99 Squadron at Chaklala, India are seen after completing their 100th mission against Japanese forces in Burma.

Better know for its role over Europe, and across the Mediteranian and Middle Eastern Theaters of Operations, the Wellington played a rarely acknowledged but important role in striking against Japan’s overextended supply lines across Burma.
